El Paraíso Club de Golf - Estepona

Reasonable rates, good management and a friendly atmosphere in this traditional British - style golf club have made it extremely popular. It was designed by Gary Player and offers a challenge to players of all levels. The course, set in the Paraíso valley and traversed by streams, many of which are hidden, winds round two lakes and through hundreds of trees. The wide fairways are bordered by heavy rough.

The 6th hole is generally regarded as the best on the course, a par-5 gogleg left where your drive must steer clear of two well-positioned bunkers, left and right, and your second shot should be aimed to the left in order to avoid landing in the lake. The green has two tiers. El Paraíso has a special category of "overseas membership" designed to make it easier to reserve tee times, especially during the busy winter months, ideal for visiting golfers who only spend part of the year on the Costa.

How to get there: Going towards Estepona, drive past San Pedro Alcántara and at Km. 167 of the coastal highway get into the traffic lane 300 metres past the Diana Shopping centre and follow the signs for the golf course and the El Paraíso hotel.
