La Cala Golf & Spa Resort - Campo Europa - Mijas

The new course, Campo Europa, is set to open in March of this year (2005). The par 71 course measures 6014 meters. The Ojen river plays a part in eight holes, cutting across three fairways. There is one main bridge that measures 45 metres and four smaller bridges over the river.

The course has one of the widest hole in Europe - the 18th at 108 meters wide. Meanwhile, the 14th is at the maximum limit of what is allowed for a par 3 at 220 meters. Course designer, Cabell B. Robinson stresses the advantages of the new course for the average golfer. "The new course is not only dramatic but will also be easier for the average golfer. The fairways are generous from the tees and the greens are slightly larger than on the resort's other courses".

How to get there: Turn off the highway at La Cala de Mijas and you will see a sign for the golf course, which is about 6 kilometres away. There is also another way to get there, from a road located between Mijas Golf and Alhaurín Golf.
