Golf Almerimar - El Ejido

The golf course at Almerimar, built in 1976, is part of a complex including two four-star hotels, apartments, other sports facilities and a marina. It is a complete resort. The course was designed by Rob Kirby and Gary Player and features wide fairways, though nowadays players must beware of the trees which have, with time, matured.

The greens are large though well protected by bunkers and five holes are affected by water hazards. The par-3 12th requires a 100-metre carry over water to an island green. Nine holes have recently been added to the original layout.

How to get there: From the coastal highway, take the turnoff marked El Ejido and the course is about 6 kilometres from the exit.
