Isla Canela in the province of Huelva is located as far west as you can go before crossing the now invisible frontier into Portugal. The course is built on a flat marshland close the Atlantic and offers an enjoyable challenge without the need of motorised transport. Isla Canela has now celebrated its 10th anniversary and golfers will notice and benefit from the mature trees and varied vegetation beside the adjoining waterways.
The 13th has an obelisk in the middle of the fairway, a navigational aid left over from past centuries helping ships up the Ayamonte river - and now golfers. Access to Isla Canela is made easier by the new motorway linking Huelva to Ayamonte.
How to get there: Going form Ayamonte take the national 431 highway towards Portugal and the Carretera la Playa.
