This newly developed Andalucian course - opened in February 2006 and located in Puerto Real municipality (in Cadiz province) - is a wide and open layout which gives players a sensation of freedom. The greens are large, undulating and varied. The course features five large lakes that come into play on more than half the hotels. The layout isn't all that long, 6,141 metres from the white markers, but it can be complicated, and certainly not easy, as the flag positions are variable; putting is especially important. In spite of being a "commercial" course, Villa Nueva has been designed with a spectacular finale (the 16th, 17th and 18th all feature water) - which makes the course attractive for competitions.
